Meeting in Greece, 24-28 November 2025
Summary of Teachers’ Mobility to Greece – Erasmus+ Project “Wear to Care: Sustainable Fashion for a Thirst-Free World”
Our first day began with presentations about our respective schools. After a short break, we took part in a series of activities designed to break the ice and help us get to know one another better. In the evening, we travelled to the city centre, where the Greek students showed us around and introduced us to the most important historical landmarks of Heraklion.
On the second day, we travelled by coach to Arkadi, where we visited the historic Arkadi Monastery. We then continued our journey to St. Anthony’s Gorge, where we enjoyed a wonderful hike surrounded by the beauty of the natural landscape and breathtaking views. Our final destination was Rethymno, where we had the opportunity to taste local specialities and take a walk along the picturesque promenade near the charming lighthouse.
On Wednesday, we visited the Hellenic Mediterranean University. During our visit, we explored the university’s greenhouses and learned how water enriched with various nutrients can be recycled and reused for growing plants. We then returned to school, where the students participated in workshops focused on water filtration and its subsequent reuse.
As part of the project activities, each partner school presented short videos devoted to internet safety. We then tested our knowledge by completing online quizzes related to the topic. The day concluded with a special certificate-awarding ceremony, which provided a memorable ending to another inspiring day.
The fourth day began with a visit to Knossos. We had the great pleasure of being accompanied by an excellent guide, who introduced us to the fascinating history of the ancient city and shared valuable information about Greek culture and traditions. Our next destination was the village of Fodele, the birthplace of the famous painter El Greco. Near a local river, we carried out tests to assess the quality of the water using specialised equipment. The day ended with a memorable farewell party, which gave all the participants an opportunity to celebrate the time we had spent together.
On Friday, our activities began with presentations on the production of materials in our respective countries. We then had the opportunity to participate in experiments involving natural dyes, conducted by students from the Greek school. After a short break, we took part in a workshop devoted to the creative reuse of materials. Each participant designed and created their own project using old T-shirts and various accessories, demonstrating how seemingly unnecessary items can be given a new purpose.
We concluded the day by sharing a meal together and enjoying the opportunity to spend more time with our international friends. Saturday was spent with our host families, who organised a variety of activities for us. In the evening, the Greek and Polish students went together to explore the city centre.
Unfortunately, every good experience eventually comes to an end. On Sunday, we gathered at the airport and began our journey home, taking with us many unforgettable memories, new friendships and valuable experiences gained throughout the project.
