Summary of Teachers’ Mobility to Turkey – Erasmus+ Project “Wear to Care: Sustainable Fashion for a Thirst-Free World”
From October 6–10, 2025, three teachers from our school took part in a mobility in Çorum, Turkey as part of the Erasmus+ project “Wear to Care: Sustainable Fashion for a Thirst-Free World.”
The main objective of the meeting was to raise awareness about sustainable fashion, water conservation, and the reuse of textile materials.
The mobility program included a variety of educational, cultural, and integration activities.
On the first day, participants visited the city’s water treatment and wastewater facilities, where they learned about water purification and distribution processes in the Çorum region.
The second day was devoted to a study visit to Samsun, offering an opportunity to explore the history and culture of northern Turkey, as well as to discuss local practices related to water resource management.
On Wednesday, a welcome ceremony and introductions of partner institutions (from Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Poland) took place. This was followed by an eco-fashion exhibition and show, featuring creative designs made from recycled materials. The day concluded with a visit to the partner school — Mehmetçik Anatolian High School.
On Thursday, the teachers participated in an upcycling workshop at the Ruhe Sanat Studio, where they learned practical methods for creatively transforming clothing. In the afternoon, there was free time to explore the city and engage in informal networking with project partners. The day ended with a social gathering at Lavanta Kasrı, where participants enjoyed an evening of genuine Turkish hospitality.
The final day featured a visit to a traditional Turkish hammam, offering insight into local culture and traditions. The mobility concluded with a presentation on water footprint delivered by Dr. Erdal Karadurmush.
The Çorum mobility enabled participants not only to broaden their knowledge of the ecological aspects of clothing production and consumption but also to strengthen international cooperation and exchange good practices with fellow project partners.
